Utility bills can be tricky to decipher and community solar credits add another element to the mix. If you're wondering what your utility bill will look like with a Solstice subscription, we've got you covered!
Here's how the process works:
- Soon after your share of a community solar farm begins producing energy, you begin receiving solar credits on your monthly utility bills. These credits will be directly deducted from what you owe to your utility company.
- As part of your utility bill, you will pay for those credits at a discount. This means you receive guaranteed monthly savings!
- Approximately 1-2 months after each credit is applied to your utility bill, Solstice will send you a credit explainer.
Discount rates are fixed and vary per community solar project. The example below shows how a 10% discount would affect a customer's bill.

In this example, this customer's total electric costs came out to $125. But with Solstice, community solar credits of $100 translated to a $10 discount in electricity costs. You can see this discount in the sample bill above in the line labeled "CDG Credit Discount". Because this customer received their solar energy credit at a discounted rate, they only had to pay $115 to their utility company instead of $125.
These savings add up over the course of your subscription! You can see your savings, your positive environmental impact, and much more by logging in to your Solstice account.
