What is the community solar charge on my Central Hudson bill?

Last updated 2026-04-21 · View original

*If you receive a separate bill from Solstice for your community solar credits, this article does not apply to you.

Soon after your share of a community solar farm begins producing energy, you begin receiving solar credits on your monthly Central Hudson electric bills. A discounted charge for the credit is also applied to your bill.

Each credit is applied as a deduction and you pay for each credit at a discounted rate - this way, you still save on your electric costs!

On your Central Hudson bill, you'll find your community solar credit and the discounted charge in the "Payments and Adjustments" section of your bill, as shown in the example below.

Community solar credits are labeled as "Community Dist Generation" and shown as a deduction. You pay for each credit you receive, but the charge includes your fixed discount (e.g. 10%). The discounted charge is portrayed as "CDG Subscription" in the same section.

The difference between the credit and charge makes up your community solar savings for the month! That value will be listed in the "Billing Adjustments" line item on the first page of your bill.
