What is the community solar charge on my National Grid bill?

Last updated 2026-05-29 · View original

*If you receive a separate bill from Solstice for your community solar credits, this article does not apply to you.

Soon after your share of a community solar farm begins producing energy, you begin receiving solar credits on your monthly National Grid electric bills. A discounted charge for the credit is also applied to your bill.

Each credit is applied as a deduction and you pay for each credit at a discounted rate - this way, you still save on your electric costs!

On your National Grid bill:

  • You'll find your community solar credit labeled as "CDG Credit - Applied To This Bill."
  • Your bill will also include the discounted charge for your credit. The charge is labeled as "CDG Subscription Fee."
  • Other information related to your community solar credits is included on your bill as well.
  • The difference between your credit applied and the subscription fee is your net savings!
