Soon after your share of a community solar farm begins producing energy, you begin receiving solar credits on your monthly JCP&L electric bills.
Each credit is applied as a deduction alongside your discounted subscription fee for the credit. Your subscription fee will always be less than the credit itself, ensuring you are always saving!
You'll find your community solar details in the "Community Solar Usage Information" and "Charges From JCP&L" section of your bill, as shown in the sample bill below.
In the sample bill above, the subscriber's contracted discount rate is 21%. This left the subscriber with a total of $23.30 net community solar savings on the bill.
The dollar value of a credit is calculated from JCP&L's electric rates and the solar kWh usage listed in the "Community Solar Usage Information" section of the bill.
