Soon after you're fully enrolled and your share of a community solar farm begins producing energy, you begin receiving community solar credits on your monthly BGE bills. Each credit is applied as a deduction and lowers your electric costs!
You'll find a breakdown of all your community solar details listed on the last page of your BGE bill, including the solar generation period, your full community solar credit, your discounted subscription charge, and your total net credit applied. A sample bill is pictured below.

Here's what each numbered section means:
- Community solar net credit: The total net credit applied to the bill.
- Savings rate (%): The percentage of the full community solar credit that you will save.
- CS credit: The dollar amount of the full community solar credit applied to your bill.
- Subscription charge: The dollar amount you pay for the full community solar credit according to your savings rate.
- Net credit: The dollar amount applied to your bill that reduces your electric costs.
- Maximum monthly applied credit: The most solar energy that can be converted to a credit in the current billing period.
- Initial bank kWh: Any unapplied solar energy carried over from the previous billing period.
- Allocated kWh: The share of solar production allocated to you for the generation period.
- Applied credit kWh: The amount of solar energy converted to a dollar value and applied for the billing period.
- Final bank kWh: The amount of unapplied solar energy that will carry over to next billing period.
In the sample bill above, the net community solar credit applied was -$12.23. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at support@solstice.us or 845-853-0768.
