As a Solstice customer, you continue to receive your electricity from your utility provider as usual, but we save you money! Soon after your share of a community solar farm begins producing energy, you start receiving solar credits on your monthly utility bills for the solar energy you generated.
Each credit you receive is applied as a deduction from your electric costs on your ComEd bill. You'll find your community solar credit in the "Renewable Community Supply Details" section of your bill.
If you're enrolled on a two-bill project, meaning you receive a bill from ComEd and Solstice:
- Your credit will be applied to your monthly ComEd bills.
- You will receive separate invoices from Solstice approximately 1-2 months after each credit is applied. For more information, please see this article.
- Solstice will charge you via autopay from the default payment method linked to your Solstice account.
If you're enrolled on a consolidated billing project, meaning you do not receive a separate bill from Solstice:
- Your credit and the discounted charge will both be applied to your monthly ComEd bills.
- You will receive credit explainers from Solstice approximately 1-2 months after each credit is applied.
