STAFF POSITIONS

  • Title: Head of Outreach
  • Compensation: Commensurate with experience
  • Term: 90-day contract, with opportunity to transition to permanent staff
  • Time commitment: Full-time
  • Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts
  • Primary responsibilities will include:
    • Identify and implement new opportunities to accelerate consumer adoption of community solar through new outreach initiatives
    • Oversee and manage outreach staff and fellows
    • Establish, track, and measure staff-level and organization-level KPIs related to outreach
    • Analyze the effectiveness of existing outreach approaches
    • Develop go-to-market strategy for outreach related to community
    • Refine outreach strategies directed at helping households in Massachusetts and across the Northeast adopt solar energy
    • Provide strategic input on business decisions pertaining to pricing, staffing, and expansion
    • Build relationships with key channel partners, validators, and other stakeholders
    • Consistently monitor market research and customer feedback to identify new business opportunities
  • Qualifications for this role include:
    • At least 5 years professional experience in outbound sales and marketing
    • Previous professional experience with start-up organizations and/or clean energy and/or social enterprises
    • Experience managing sales and/or marketing operations and staff
    • Ability to articulate Solstice’s value proposition to key stakeholders with passion and energy
    • Knowledge of and relationships with key stakeholders in the state of Massachusetts and regionally

  • Title: Technical Lead
  • Compensation: Equity and stipend
  • Term:  90-day provisional period, with opportunity to transition to permanent staff. 
  • Position overview: Solstice is expanding its service offerings through the creation of a digital platform that will seamlessly manage all of the customer-facing activities in the community solar space: customer outreach and onboarding, utility integration, account management, and consumer engagement.  The primary initial task of the Technical Lead will be to manage the creation of this platform from conception to completion.
  • Qualifications: 
    • Passion for and working knowledge of renewable energy
    • Amenable to the demands of a start-up environment, such as long and variable work hours, tight deadlines, and limited supervision
    • Progress toward or attainment of bachelor’s degree
    • Preferably based in the greater Boston area but not required
  • Additional qualifications for this role include: 
    • Expertise in and/or previous experience with both front- and back-end development of native mobile applications or responsive web design. Experience with Salesforce, Facebook's React.js library and Node.js JavaScript environment strongly preferred
    • Ability to utilize graphics software to design and layout visual elements of platform
    • Previous experience with managing software engineers and/or other staff
    • Extraordinary attention to detail, creative, personable, enthusiastic, proactive, team-oriented

  • Title: Community Outreach Coordinator - NY
  • Compensation: Base stipend plus commission-based incentives
  • Term: 90-day contract, with opportunity to transition to permanent staff
  • Time commitment: Full-time
  • Location: New York
  • Position overview: In anticipation of rapid organizational growth in the months ahead, we are looking for highly-motivated individuals to expand our organization's community outreach capabilities. The position is a results-oriented role with significant opportunity for professional growth and autonomy.
  • Responsibilities will include:
    • Designing and executing a data-driven sales strategy directed at helping New York households adopt solar energy
    • Conducting outreach to and building relationships with community organizations, including households of worship, workplaces, community centers, schools, and service organizations
    • Interfacing with community leaders and stakeholders to help their networks switch to solar
    • Conducting outreach to build awareness among New York households interested in solar power
    • Supporting monitoring of progress to sales goals
  • Qualifications: 
    • Previous professional experience in community organizing and/or outbound sales.  Previous sales or political campaign experience preferred, as is a comfort with public engagement.
    • Ability to articulate Solstice’s value proposition to households and communities with passion and energy
    • Knowledge of/relationships with community organizations in the state of New York
    • Ability and willingness to travel on a frequent basis
    • Willingness to work evenings and weekends
    • Access to a car

In addition, Solstice is looking for motivated, self-directed individuals who are willing to give time to help us expand access to solar power in America. Currently, we are seeking specialists in design, programming, marketing, and outreach.
