MUCC’s local solar farm is quickly filling up. We’re aiming to help 300 households in our community sign up so they can start experiencing the benefits of clean energy! For every community member that enrolls, MUCC receives a $25 enrollment match to go towards efficiency upgrades for our facility. Together, we can benefit from lower electric bills and build a more resilient community.

What is Community Solar?

Community Solar is when we allocate you a portion of a shared solar farm in New York that will produce clean, renewable energy on your behalf. The green electricity is sent to your utility company. You will see a 10% discount on your normal utility bill for the electricity produced by your allocation. Your lights turn on as always. There is no installation, extra costs or downtime.

Why is MUCC partnering with Solstice Power Technologies?

We are partnering with this fantastic organization to ensure that everyone in our community can take advantage of their local community solar farm. Our residents can join a local solar farm administered by Solstice and receive energy credits that can lower the electricity bill.

What happens if I join?

When you enroll, you will be allocated panels from a Solstice solar farm. Your panels will generate energy that will be credited to you on your electric bill, reducing your electric costs by up to 10%. Additionally, you will receive a $25 enrollment bonus for joining.

Can I join this community solar program if I am signed up for municipal aggregation?

Yes! We are encouraging everyone to participate in this program as it is free, safe, and guarantees a lower energy bill than if you were not enrolled in community solar.
