STAFF POSITION

  • Title: Head of Sales
  • Compensation: Commensurate with experience.
  • Term:  90-day provisional period, with opportunity to transition to permanent staff. 
  • Position overview:  Solstice is expanding and it is looking for someone to lead its community outreach team.  The primary tasks of the Head of Sales will be to identify and implement new opportunities to accelerate consumer adoption of community solar, oversee and manage staff and fellows, establish and measure staff-level and organization level KPIs related to outreach, develop a go-to-market strategy for outreach, provide strategic input on business decisions, refine outreach strategy, build relationships with key channel partners and other stakeholders, and consistently monitor market research to identify new opportunities. This position will report to the President.
  • Qualifications: 
    • At least 5 years’ professional experience in outbound sales and marketing
    • Previous professional experience with start-up organizations and/or clean energy and/or social enterprises
    • Experience managing sales and/or marketing operations and staff
    • Ability to articulate Solstice’s value proposition to key stakeholders with passion and energy
    • Knowledge of and relationships with key stakeholders in the state of Massachusetts and regionally
    • Ability and willingness to travel on a frequent basis
    • Willingness to work evenings and weekends
    • Access to a car
    • Extraordinary attention to detail, highly-motivated, creative, proactive, team-oriented, self-starting and eager to work outside of an office setting.

  • Title: Head of Marketing
  • Compensation: Commensurate with experience.
  • Term:  90-day provisional period, with opportunity to transition to permanent staff. 
  • Position overview:  Solstice seeks an enterprising and experienced professional to spearhead our rapidly growing marketing and communications efforts. The role offers significant responsibilities in an award-winning clean energy startup with the potential for cofounder-level empowerment. You’ll work with the CEO and be responsible for all areas of marketing, including building awareness and generating leads.
  • Qualifications: 
    • Relevant senior marketing and management experience, including with multiple aspects of digital marketing (Social Media, SEO, PR, Email Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Affiliate Marketing, Web Analytics, Digital Optimization, Growth Hacking, Digital Marketing Strategy)
    • Previous professional experience with start-up organizations and/or clean energy and/or social enterprises
    • Proven track record with startups as a growth hacker / growth marketer
    • Excellent writing and communication skills (we’ll want to see examples!)
    • Analytical skills to assess data and determine appropriate marketing strategies
    • Ability to discern appropriate aesthetics and communicate graphic design guidance

  • Position overview: Solstice seeks an enterprising individual with a knack for the written word, visual storytelling, and metrics to grow our marketing efforts. You will be in charge of the marketing campaigns that will enable households to access solar for the first time. The role offers significant responsibilities in an award-winning clean energy startup.
  • Qualifications: 
    • Excellent writing skills a must (we’ll want to see examples you’ve published!)

  • Title: Technical Lead
  • Compensation: Equity and stipend
  • Term:  90-day provisional period, with opportunity to transition to permanent staff. 
  • Position overview:  Solstice is expanding its service offerings through the creation of a digital platform that will seamlessly manage all of the customer-facing activities in the community solar space: customer outreach and onboarding, utility integration, account management, and consumer engagement.  The primary task of the Technical Lead will be to develop the strategy around platform development, including designing the product roadmap and managing the development team.
  • Qualifications: 
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
    • Passion for and working knowledge of renewable energy
    • 5-7 years of work experience after graduation
    • Based in or willing to move to the greater Boston area
    • Expertise in and/or previous experience with Meteor, React, MongoDB, and Postgres
    • Experience with version control systems, e.g. Git
    • Amenable to the demands of a start-up environment, such as long and variable work hours, tight deadlines, and limited supervision
    • Passion for and working knowledge of renewable energy
  • Additional qualifications for this role include: 
    • Experience with Underscore and Lodash; experience with Foundation or Bootstrap

  • Title: Development and Grant Writer
  • Compensation: Base stipend plus equity

  • Position overview: Solstice seeks an excellent writer and communicator to drive fundraising efforts for Solstice. You will be the storytelling engine of the company, and you will craft the narrative that helps marshal crucial resources to the company. The role offers significant responsibilities in an award-winning clean energy startup.
  • Responsibilities will include:
    • Draft applications for grants and business competitions
    • Identify and engage with potential funders
    • Compose progress reports to existing funders
    • Assist marketing department with drafting blogs, media stories, and press releases
